A Gourmet Glance at the Past

Please join us for an evening of food and food history!

We will take you through a five-course meal based on dishes of the past with a bit of information about how these dishes would have been prepared or served years ago.  We have updated the recipes to make them a bit more current and approachable.  This should be an interesting, educational and tasty evening!

Menu:

New England Haddock Chowder                                              
Haddock, potatoes, salt pork, milk

FridayesPye                                                                                                          
Tartlet of beets, apples, currants, salt, pepper with a side of citrus dressed spring greens

Rabbit Roly Poly                                                               
Minced rabbit, shallot, garlic, thyme, pounded cheese, spread over short crust pastry and rolled over, with a rabbit /bacon jus  

Turkey Cutlet wrapped in caulfat         

Turkey roulade with pickled mushrooms, crumbled bacon, lemon peel, thyme, anchovies, and oysters

 A trio of Desserts

Indian pudding, Spring Fool and Cookies

Doors and cash bar available from 5:00 with a classic snack to appease your palate!  Dinner to begin at 5:30.
